To get the best performance with a 2N2222A transistor, you should not drive the load more than 600mA, and the collector-emitter voltage of the transistor must in under 40V. Use a suitable base resistor (RB), which provides the required current at the base of the 2N2222A transistor. The value for this resistor can be calculated using the formula: RB = VEB / IB. Where, the value of VEB should be 6V for 2N2222A, and the Base current (IB depends on the Collector current (IC). The value of IB should not exceed mA. Also, you should not operate this transistor below -55 °C and above +150 °C.
